What to do when it’s 100° in Pleasant Hill
Hi neighbor!
Today marks the first 100° day in Pleasant Hill and time will tell how many more we’ll have this summer.
Here are some fun ways to beat the heat while getting out of the house:
Pool/splash pad: Pleasant Hill Aquatic Park is right here in town, free, and open from 1:30–4pm today. Meadow Homes Spray Park (Concord) and Hap Magee Ranch Park’s spray feature (Danville) are also free and open 12–6 today. Larkey Swim Center pool and spray ground have an admission fee and will be open from 1–4.
Beach: I personally enjoy going to Alameda beaches for proximity and fairly calm water. You can park at the Crown Memorial State Beach parking lot for $5, which has public restrooms, or park around Shore Line Drive. It should be 88° in Alameda today and 80° tomorrow.
Movies: A cold movie theater on a hot day always hits the spot.
Bowling: Get 2 free bowling games per child at Clayton Valley Bowl or Paddock Bowl by signing up for Kids Bowl Free (affiliate link).
Arcade: My boys are into Dave and Busters (I got them the summer season pass for unlimited game play until 9/8) and also enjoy Chuck E. Cheese.
What are your favorite things to do on hot days? Reply back and let me know!
See you around town,
Jen
