Hi neighbor! Happy summer!

Today’s the last day of school for those of us in MDUSD and it feels like the perfect time to kick off the Pleasant Hill Families newsletter.

Our community is lucky to have so many fun things to do year round, especially during our warm summer months.

Stay tuned for emails every Tuesday and Thursday so you can discover all that Pleasant Hill has to offer.

Some of the things our family will be doing on repeat this summer include:

  • Swimming: Pleasant Hill Aquatic Park has free admission all summer. They're open daily (except Tuesdays) beginning this Saturday, June 6. The facility includes the main pool, a shallow pool, spray ground, changing rooms, and a lawn area.

  • Bowling: Kids can get two free games per day at Clayton Valley Bowl and/or Paddock Bowl by signing up at Kids Bowl Free (paid link). Adults can purchase a family pass for under $50 to bowl all summer as well.

  • Reading: The summer reading program has officially kicked off at the Pleasant Hill Library. Every participant can win a free book and a chance to win other prizes (like a Nintendo Switch 2, Lego sets, and stuffed animals).

  • Biking: Explore Pleasant Hill from the seat of your bike! You can win fun prizes from 511 CCTA’s Summer Bike Challenge by sharing pictures of your family biking to points of interest around Pleasant Hill, such as elementary schools, parks, and the library.

I also just signed up for the Honey Homes handyman services to help get my house ready for summer and fix a few things we can't do ourselves. They're extending a free home walk-through and $400 off (paid link) their fee for Pleasant Hill Families.

What's your family up to this summer? Reply back and let me know!

Hope to see you around town,

Jen
