I just tried a European manicure and smart pedicure for the first time, and wow. I’m hooked.
I saw Natalia at Nat Nail Studio in Walnut Creek and have been so impressed with the results.
The European manicure uses an electric nail file to exfoliate your cuticles rather than using cuticle nippers to clean up your nail bed. It’s surprisingly relaxing and I noticed my whole body sort of melt into the chair while she removed any evidence of nail biting.
Smart pedicures also use an electric file, with discs that completely removed my calluses and left my feet softer than they’ve ever felt. I have a bad habit of walking around barefoot and I’ve just sort of accepted my rough feet until now.
Natalia also meticulously shaped my nails and applied gel polish, which I’m told should last for several weeks. So far, so good!
The studio is calm and cozy, with nice music playing, comfortable chairs, a variety of drinks, and chocolates to snack on.
Natalia isn't very chatty during the service, which is nice for introverts or parents craving some peace and quiet. The whole appointment took three and a half hours, and it felt like a true escape. You could even bring an audiobook or a podcast if that’s more your thing.
